Here in the Premier See, where Catholic history in our nation runs deepest, something profoundly hopeful is unfolding. The Archdiocese of Baltimore is preparing to entrust its legacy to one of the youngest cohorts of Clergy we have ever seen. With 64 seminarians currently in formation, a near-record number, the future of our local Church shines with youthful faith, energy, and purpose.
Each seminarian represents a courageous “yes” to God’s call, a response that carries both spiritual and practical implications. For, with the blessing of 64 future priests, each pursuing rigorous studies in theology, philosophy, and pastoral ministry, comes the responsibility to form them. Collectively, the cost of their formation exceeds $2 million annually; fortunately, Catholic Community Foundation fund holders and donors have come forward to help meet these costs.
Nine generous individuals, families, and organizations have established endowment funds in the CCF, dedicated to Vocations and Seminarian discernment. Through their generosity these endowments annually distribute over $146,000, and since their inception, have distributed more than $1.4 million. Every year these funds help provide essential support for tuition, formation materials, and living expenses. Each dollar given is more than financial aid; it’s a vote of confidence in the Church’s future leaders.
Our seminarians are deeply aware of that support. We invite you to view three of their grateful responses below:

Knowing the Archdiocese covers costs of seminarian formation and discernment opportunities frees us up to be fully present in prayer, studies, and community and pastoral life. – Connor Guidera, 3rd Year of Seminary, 2nd Philosophy |

The renewed enthusiasm for vocations in our Archdiocese gives the faithful a sense of hope that the Lord is alive and working in our community. People have prayed for vocations for years and the Lord has answered these prayers. – Jack Morris, 3rd Year Theology, to be ordained Transitional Deacon in May, 2026 |

Like a venerable tree, the Premier See has deep roots, roots of those who have come before, supporting Seminarians like me with their gifts of prayer and treasure. Gifts in support of Vocations have enabled me to take advantage of service opportunities abroad that otherwise would not have been made available to me. – Ben Oursler, Pastoral Year at Sacred Heart, Glyndon, to be ordained Transitional Deacon in May, 2026 |
These young men are preparing not just for ordination, but for a lifetime of service: to preach the Gospel, to celebrate the sacraments, and to accompany the faithful in every moment of joy and sorrow.
From pew to pulpit, Baltimore’s Catholic community, and the Foundation bearing its name are ensuring that the oldest Archdiocese in the nation remains vibrant and young-at-heart with strong leadership, and enduring hope.
