Stories of Giving

Kreft Family Fund

Kreft Family

Joseph E. and Elizabeth Ann Kreft were married in 1953 at St. Charles Borromeo Parish in Pikesville. In 1960 they moved to Taneytown and became members of Sacred Heart Parish in Glyndon.

They were blessed with seven children and fifteen grandchildren. Following the death of Joseph E. Kreft, Sr. in December of 2003, Mrs. Kreft expressed an interest in making a contribution to the Church in celebration of his life. Mr. & Mrs. Kreft had always prayed for a vocation in the family, but it was not to be. An endowment fund named after her husband for the support of a seminarian proved to be the perfect fit. "Joe and I have always felt that it was important to give back to the Church for all the blessings that Our Lord has given to us, so it was only natural that I set up this fund."
